Cycling the Alps! 5 mountian passes, 4 countries, 3 bikes (and travellers)... 600km!
There's one (very) important part of Day 3 missing from the last post, that being our afternoon siesta by the frankly delightful lake, 'Lago di Santa Guistina' !!! (imagine fake mock Dolmio Italian accent).
As you can see by the pictures, the water is tourquoise, and you can no doubt believe how much better this looked after a morning's grind (NB: exaggeration). We were absolutely not deterred by the lake's steep rocky banks, and were not to be denied by its obvious inaccessibility a cool paradisical dip. As it turned out, we even had enough room to cook lunch, not that much room is needed with such a triumph a Torsten's Swedish army issue camping cooker. I may be a tad biased, having listened to his constant stream of passionate worship (not an exaggeration) for a total of nine days on this trip alone ;-) ... but it really deserved much of it. We literally ate well every single day.
So, on a tiny ''beach'' (used in the loosest sense of the word) cous cous and vegetables in sauce was cooked, clothes were removed, glorious naked swims were had by all, rain started to fall, things were hastily packed up, rain hastily stopped, and we left thoroughly full and exhilarated.
The pictures tell the rest of the story (minus the nudity obviously).
The only question is, how could I forget to include this in Day 3's main post? >:-S
